Max is picking up the vibe, so he sounds truly apologetic when he has to ask, "I'm guessing that's someone famous in your world? I can't promise mine would be the exact same, but I don't mind trying it for you."
"It would certainly take me back. Oh, those were heady times, Max. Heady, foolish, wonderful times. I almost felt mortal then. Perhaps I still was, not that I ever was. It all blurs together, in a painfully distinct sort of way."
"Oh! Hadn't realized that hadn't come up. Well, I'm a daedroth! Think of it as an idea that grew some opinions and slapped on a face. Makes it much harder to communicate, when you haven't a face, or a name, or a voice. Wouldn't recommend it!" He lets out a hearty laugh.
Daedroth? Max's heavy brow furrows lightly as he tries to square that description in his mind. He didn't know it was possible for an idea to become alive. It sounds like something from a fairy tale. Then again, look where they are.
"I'm glad you have a face, then, because, yeah, I don't know how well I'd be able to talk to you without one. And that would be a shame because we always have the most interesting talks. But... what idea were you born from? Is that the right way to say it, born?"
